Creators of innovative products designed in Barcelona by and for disabled people
Batec Mobility’s mission is to radically improve the mobility of people with physical disabilities, having a direct positive impact on their quality of life.
In 1997, Batec Mobility’s founder, Pau Bach, was involved in an accident that left him quadriplegic. Over the following years, his vocation as an industrial designer and passion for motorbikes and cycling led him to design his own handbike. In 2006, he founded Batec Mobility, a company that manufactures add-on handbikes for wheelchair users and has continued to grow ever since, around the world. Located in Barcelona, Batec Mobility is a perfect example of the city’s industrial design tradition. Currently, 40% of Batec Mobility employees have a disability of some sort and some of them are also manual wheelchair users. This gives them a deeper insight into the needs of Batec Mobility users.
